Managing Director, Intermediary sales

Reports to:  Head of Business Development
Location: Richmond, VA or Remote

TSW seeks a highly motivated Managing Director, Intermediary Sales who is committed to excelling in relationship-building and has a strong foundation of knowledge across key distribution platforms including Wirehouse and Regional Broker dealers, Defined Contribution (DC) aggregators, and Registered Investment Advisers (RIAs).  The Managing Director, Intermediary Sales will work closely with TSW’s Business Development and Client Portfolio Manager teams to provide relevant and timely investment and product solutions to financial intermediaries across a defined set of key Strategic Account relationships.

Responsibilities:

• Work in partnership with Business Development and Client Portfolio Managers to further develop and maintain existing client relationships across key Strategic Account (Wirehouse and Regional Broker dealers, DC aggregators, and RIAs) relationships.

• Develop and implement a clearly defined sales plan specific to key Strategic Account relationships.

• Identify opportunities for new market share through frequent interaction with partner firms.

• Assist in the development and communication of key firm updates, strategic goals, and progress across focus firms.

• Manage ongoing engagement and maintenance of key due diligence/manager research team relationships across a defined set of strategic accounts.

• Respond to ad hoc requests from various Strategic Accounts that are operational and or investment data related.

• Assist with launching business development efforts to support events such as fund launches, portfolio manager road shows and sales conferences.

• Facilitate quarterly meetings with key Strategic Account Sales Desks.

• Work closely with Marketing on integrated digital marketing campaigns to increase overall visibility with various partner firms.

• Quickly assimilate and present all focus products/investment strategies and value-added pieces to prospective clients.

• Integrate current themes and campaigns into conversations that drive the sales process.

• Maintain constant and open communication while leveraging firm level CRM and Digital Marketing tools on daily/weekly/monthly basis.

Qualifications:

• Undergraduate Degree, preferably in business, economics, or finance.

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in a National/Key Accounts capacity at a Mutual Fund, SMA or ETF company.

• Experience in intermediary sales.

• Strong preference for proven distribution/sales success in one or several of the multiple channels of intermediary distribution including brokerage firms, banks, insurance companies, financial planners and RIAs.

• Ability to develop relationships with executives and investment research analysts and internal partners to deliver ideas and information that will generate sales and asset growth.

• FINRA Series 7, & 63 or 66 licenses required, and mutual fund/investment sales experience preferred.

• Strong computer skills: MS Word, Excel, CRM, assimilation of firm-level analytical tools.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Must be a self-starter and demonstrate a passion for sales.

• Excellent interpersonal skills, as well as a team player.

• Desire to compete coupled with a high degree of integrity, with a high degree of respect for yourself, peers and the firm.

• Extensive travel will be required
